MYSTAGOGY MOMENT:
“Father, I stretch my hands to thee, no other help I know, if thou withdraw yourself from me, whither shall I go?”
The cries of Jesus from the cross ring differently this year. This season of isolation has gone on longer than any of us could have imagined. Many of us, like Jesus, have been carrying our own crosses, crying to God for help. God was there with Jesus in his trial on the cross. God answered Jesus’s cries and he rose again on the third day. We will also rise again from tombs of isolation and fear. Tombs of uncertainty and frustration. Tombs of sickness and doubt. We will rise. Bring your pain and petitions to God. If not to God, where can we go?
