The refrain of John Angotti’s Psalm setting speaks to the heart of the Season of Advent: “Lord, make us turn to you. Let us see your face and we shall be saved.” We should seek the face of God in everyone and turn to him in everything, not just in our times of need, but also in thanksgiving, blessing, and joy. Our actions should reflect that, treating others with mercy, patience, understanding, kindness, and of course, love. It is an important reminder that only God is our true source of happiness and peace…and salvation! When we truly turn to God and seek his face in our lives, we will indeed be saved.

El estribillo del Salmo de John Angotti habla al corazón del tiempo de Adviento: “Señor, haz que nos volvamos a ti. Haz que veamos tu rostro y nos salvaremos”. Debemos buscar el rostro de Dios en todos y dirigirnos a él en todo, no sólo en nuestros momentos de necesidad, sino también en la acción de gracias, la bendición y la alegría. Nuestras acciones deben reflejarlo, tratando a los demás con misericordia, paciencia, comprensión, bondad y, por supuesto, amor. Es un recordatorio importante de que sólo Dios es nuestra verdadera fuente de felicidad y paz… ¡y de salvación! Cuando nos volvemos de verdad a Dios y buscamos su rostro en nuestras vidas, nos salvamos.
