My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked upon his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
“Proclama mi alma la grandeza del Señor;
mi espíritu se alegra en Dios, mi Salvador,
porque ha mirado a su humilde sierva.
Desde hoy me llamarán bienaventurada todas las generaciones:
El Todopoderoso ha hecho grandes cosas por mí

Mary’s song is a beautiful declaration of faith. One that is deeply rooted in her understanding of the Scriptures and of who her Son is and will be. I often wonder how difficult it must have been for Mary and her husband Joseph to live with this truth, that their Son would be the savior of not just the Israelite people but the entire world. What a deep honor it is to be chosen by God for this beautiful and difficult task. These beautiful words are a testimony to how deeply Mary loves her Father in heaven and the beautiful innocent baby boy in her womb. As we continue to prepare our Heart, Mind, and Soul for the celebration of Christmas, may we deeply cherish this time of waiting, preparation, and reflection. May we come to the Scriptures and meditate on the truth of these words. May we come and behold the beautiful holiness of Jesus. May we let our love of God overflow and become a testimony to those around us just like Mary..
El canto de María es una hermosa declaración de fe. Una que está profundamente arraigada en su comprensión de las Escrituras y de quién es y será su Hijo. A menudo me pregunto lo difícil que debió ser para María y su esposo José vivir con esta verdad, que su Hijo sería el salvador no sólo del pueblo israelita, sino del mundo entero. Qué profundo honor es ser elegido por Dios para esta hermosa y difícil tarea. Estas hermosas palabras son un testimonio de lo profundamente que María ama a su Padre del cielo y al hermoso niño inocente que lleva en su vientre. Mientras seguimos preparando nuestro corazón, nuestra mente y nuestra alma para la celebración de la Navidad, que valoremos profundamente este tiempo de espera, preparación y reflexión. Que acudamos a las Escrituras y meditemos en la verdad de estas palabras. Que nos acerquemos y contemplemos la hermosa santidad de Jesús. Que dejemos que nuestro amor a Dios se desborde y se convierta en testimonio para los que nos rodean, como María.
