God’s Love Poured Out
Year 1 ( 2022 – 2023 )
Text:
Romans [3:28-30] 5:1-11
Summary:
Paul writes of justification by faith. We “boast in our sufferings…because God’s love has been poured into our hearts…” “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Through Christ, we have been reconciled.
Prayer of Confession
Reconciling God,
you are the Giver
of faith, peace, grace, hope, and love.
Freely, you pour these gifts into our hearts
through your Holy Spirit.
Forgive us, Gracious One,
for all the ways we neglect or hoard your gifts to us.
Forgive us, too, for all the ways we try to manufacture
such things for ourselves.
When we were lost in our own fruitless striving,
you came among us in Christ Jesus
to show a better Way.
You reconciled us to yourself.
Teach us to embrace and to share
the faith, peace, grace, hope, and love you alone can give.
