Genesis 6:5-22; 8:6-12; 9:8-17

Call to Worship

One:

We gather to begin again.

All:

We gather to hear the old stories,
and through them, to be made new.

One:

Today, we listen for the story of Noah:
a story of God’s heartache and wrath,

All:

a story of God’s love for all creation,

One:

a story of destruction and renewal,

All:

a story of guidance through the storm,

One:

a story from the depths of humanity’s shared, scared, scarred, and sacred imagination.

All:

a story from the depths of our fears and our hopes.

One:

a story of a world gone mad,

All:

a story of a world made new.

One:

We come into this place, seeking shelter from the storms of life.

All:

We come into this place to start over.
     Let us begin again.
