Leslie Carroll Palmer-Barnhart writes a lovely meditation on Lady Wisdom in her hymn “Wisdom, My Road“
“I really LOVE this!”
We’ve likely said those words upon receiving a gift. Yet the true test of our sincerity comes after the gift-giving: we demonstrate our love for a gift when we use it, wear it, display it, and so on.
Today we sing “Lord, I love your commands” in the responsorial psalm. As with other gifts, how much we mean it is determined by whether or not we daily live out that love we claim to have. When Wisdom’s road gets bumpy and those commands aren’t easy, we still are called on to live out the love we claim to have.

“Yo amo, Señor, tus mandamientos.”

“¡Me encanta!”
Es muy seguro que alguna vez hayamos dicho esa frase cuando recibimos un regalo. Sin embargo, la verdadera prueba de nuestra sinceridad viene después de recibir el regalo, demostramos nuestro amor por un regalo cuando lo usamos, lo llevamos puesto, lo mostramos, etc.
Hoy en el salmo responsorial cantamos “Yo amo, Señor, tus mandamientos”. Así como sucede con otros regalos, el significado que le demos dependerá de si vivimos o no a diario ese amor que decimos tener. Cuando el camino de la Sabiduría se llena de baches y esos mandamientos no son fáciles, seguimos estando llamados a vivir el amor que decimos tener.
