Perhaps a quote from the Beatles’ classic “All You Need is Love” would have sufficed to comment on today’s scriptures. Love is not a by-product or added benefit we receive from our relationships with God and with one another. It is, rather, fundemental to God’s very being and nature, and therefore to our identity as followers of Christ. If we are acting, speaking, living, and breathing love, then we are rooted in the source of love.

Quizá una cita del clásico de los Beatles “All You Need is Love” habría bastado para comentar las Escrituras de hoy. El amor no es un subproducto o un beneficio añadido que recibimos de nuestras relaciones con Dios y entre nosotros. Es, más bien, fundamental para el propio ser y naturaleza de Dios y, por tanto, para nuestra identidad como seguidores de Cristo. Si actuamos, hablamos, vivimos y respiramos amor, entonces estamos enraizados en la fuente del amor.
