Triumph, all ye cherubim. Sing with us, ye seraphim!
Heaven and earth resound the hymn: Salve, salve, salve, Regina!

Perhaps you hadn’t noticed this nuance previously, but in this quintessential Catholic hymn, the direct address is from us on earth to the heavenly chorus. It basically says, “Hey, all you angels up there, join our song!” That’s a pretty bold ground-to-air invitation to extend, and yet, a necessary one as mortals and immortals alike embrace Mother Mary, Queen of heaven and earth. How can we not rejoice in she who is “the cause of joy to us below” and “the spring through which all graces flow”?
Yes, the Queen stands at God’s right hand arrayed in gold, but so also does Mary, gentle, loving mother stand faithfully at our side. How blessed are we to be in the ever-protective mantle of the radiant Guadalupe, Mother of the God of light and Sun of Justice. On this solemn day, may heaven and earth resound the hymn: Salve, Regina!

Tal vez no te habías dado cuenta de este matiz anteriormente, pero en este himno católico por excelencia, la dirección que lleva es en la que nos dirigimos directamente desde la tierra al coro celestial. Básicamente dice: “¡Eh, todos los ángeles allá arriba, unanse a nuestro canto!” Es una invitación muy audaz de la tierra al aire, y sin embargo, tanto mortal como inmortal que abraza a la Madre María, Reina del cielo y de la tierra. ¿Cómo no alegrarnos de aquella que es “causa de alegría para los de abajo” y “manantial por la que fluyen todas las gracias”?
Sí, la Reina está vestida de oro a la diestra de Dios, pero también María, madre dulce y amorosa, está fielmente a nuestro lado y amorosa. Qué bendecidos estamos por estar bajo el manto siempre protector de la radiante Guadalupe, Madre del Dios de la luz y Sol de Justicia. Qué en este día solemne que en el cielo y en la tierra resuene el himno: ¡Salve, Regina!
