Splendor isn’t a word we use or hear often. It’s a word that speaks of magnificence and brilliance, often associated with royalty. Today, we are called to rise up in splendor, with a sudden understanding of who the newborn king born on Christmas is…and what that means for who we are. There are many days where it would be easy to despair, to lie down and give up, but today we are reminded of the most important reason not to do so. The world’s brokenness doesn’t have to break us. “See, darkness covers the earth, and thick clouds cover the peoples; but upon you the LORD shines, and over you appears his glory.” The Hope and the Light of our world is with us, now and always. Rise up!

Esplendor no es una palabra que usamos ni escuchamos con frecuencia. Es una palabra que habla de magnificencia y brillantez, a menudo asociada con la realeza. Hoy, estamos llamados a levantarnos en esplendor, con una repentina comprensión de quién es el rey recién nacido en Navidad… y lo que eso significa para quienes somos. Hay muchos días en los que sería fácil desesperarse, tumbarse y darse por vencido, pero hoy se nos recuerda cuál es la razón más importante para no hacerlo. El quebrantamiento del mundo no tiene por qué quebrarnos a nosotros. “Mira, tinieblas cubren la tierra, y espesas nubes cubren a los pueblos; pero sobre ti brilla Jehová, y sobre ti aparece su gloria”. La Esperanza y la Luz de nuestro mundo está con nosotros, ahora y siempre. ¡Levantate!
