Today’s Reflection
Monday, Dec. 25 | Audio Advent Calendar 2023
Reflection by Peter Adam Tice
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
– John 1:1–5
– Juan 1,1-5

Reflection Song – “Holy Night, Blessed Night” | by Chris de Silva
Monday, December 25
Christmas is when everything and nothing changes. The people who walked in shadows may have seen a great light, but shadows still surround us. Every valley has been raised up and every mountain brought low, and all our crooked paths un-crooked; but still we stumble, still we rise and fall and rise and fall, and manage to crook our paths all over again. Unto us a child is born, yet still we beat our ploughshares into spears and swords and guns and bombs and where that child was born two thousand years ago we reduce the ground to rubble where no child is safe. Christmas is when everything and nothing changes. Shadows still surround us, but light is within us. We rise and we fall and we make our paths crooked, but the Word is with us and walks beside us. Unto us a child is born and every child that is born is our child, and God’s child, and holy, because the light that shines is light for the whole human race. Christmas is when nothing and everything changes.
